Description
The University of Limpopo was formed in 2005 after the merger of the University of the North and the Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA). Both universities have a rich history of inclusion for people who did not previously have access to education but wanted to further their studies and improve their country.
The location of the university continues the culture of inclusiveness due to it being accessible by roads, railways, and taxis. The university has strong roots in community involvement and this is important to all staff and students.
The main goal of the University of Limpopo is to build up communities with academic excellence, ingenuity, and a professional attitude. Their values include accountability, transparency, integrity and inclusivity. The alumni include leading politicians such as Cyril Ramaphosa and Chupu Stanley Mathabatha.
