North-West University is one of the largest universities in South Africa. It includes three campuses at Potchefstroom, Mahikeng (previously Mafikeng) and Vanderbijlpark. Potchefstroom is the head office of the University. The universities that merged to form this impressive institution include the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education and the University of North-West (formerly the University of Bophuthatswana).
It is now considered a university which brings together students of all walks of life. It is one of the more successful mergers due to the improved student pass rates and research, as well as the stable strategies in place for its growth. The institution is dynamic and offers future-facing courses without losing focus on its African roots and heritage.
