Description
Helderberg College is situated in Somerset West. It was established in 1893 and was the first Seventh-day Adventist College outside of North America under the name of “Union College”. It also houses a pre-school, primary school and high school. The university supports an olive industry and has a stunning view of the surrounding nature reserves.
The establishment is now known as the Helderberg College of Higher Education. It was renamed during the 125-year celebrations in 2018. It prides itself on offering Christian education that is also translatable into everyday life, work, and situations. Community engagement is an important part of student life at this historic campus.
The college also places an emphasis on service learning, which involves interacting with and serving a community or cause relevant to the courses. Students are expected to attend at least one of the several places of worship on the campus. Students can keep physically and mentally fit by using the many resources available to them. The campus is geared towards encouraging a healthy lifestyle both physically and spiritually.
