Description

The Foundation for Professional Development is based in Pretoria and was founded in 1997. It is a department of the South African Medical Association and provides courses in management and professional development. After electing to take one or more courses, students are able to prepare themselves for the world beyond studying.

The research facilities of the institution are cutting-edge and allow students to make groundbreaking discoveries in their chosen fields. There is also the HIV Think Tank which provides a central space for all stakeholders to review research related to the HIV epidemic in South Africa. The innovation and health management clusters are in place to maintain and improve the innovation of the institution.

Community support and engagement are important aspects of this establishment, and the institution itself supports NGOs and other important projects. One of the major draws are these programmes and initiatives as it reiterates how engaged and relevant the institution is.  It has trained up to 337 228 students across the country.
