Description

The Cornerstone Institute is based in Cape Town and was founded in 1970 in the Cape Flats. It was originally known as the Cape Evangelical Bible Institute and provided education for underqualified pastors in the area. Since then, it has become one of the leading institutes in the sector and offers courses in a variety of faculties.

The ethos of the university includes ethics of a high standard, professional and leadership integrity, as well as personal development. The Cornerstone Institute aims to provide a foundation of learning to South Africans that is easily accessible. The institution’s model is based on social relevance, ethical and academic integrity, plurality, as well as financial sustainability.

Students who have not received a Bachelor’s Pass in Matric are still able to access certain courses at the institute. There is a bridge programme available to those who wish to undertake further studies. Students will find that the campus is diverse, welcoming and understanding of their needs. There is also a Fundamentals Training Centre which offers leadership and management training. They also teach South African history and ethics courses in their undergraduate years.
